Background of WWW
WAVE, a Himalmedia publication, has initiated the Wave Web Winner web-designing competition in order to promote local web designers. The competition is open to all Nepalis residing in Nepal, and targeted towards the youth. Initiated in 2002, the competition enters its third edition with the WWW 2004.

Entry Deadline: 15 January 2005

Rules
• The contest is open for all Nepalis living inside Nepal, under 30 years of age.
• Type of site: Any* (including corporate sites), including sites hosted on free servers like geocities. * Note: Socially sensitive, political and adult oriented sites will not be accepted.
• Multiple sites can be submitted by one participant.
• The sites can be in any local language but only Nepali or English sites will be judged for the Best Site – Content Award.
• People associated with Himalmedia Private Limited or the sponsors are not eligible to take part in the contest.
• An independent jury comprising of eminent personalities from different fields will be judging the entries.
• WAVE has right to make any decision at its discretion.
• Participating site must have following tag on their homepage at the top: <!—WWW 2004 participant->.

In order to provide all participants a fair playing field, an additional element has been added to the competition this year. A participant can submit as many existing site to be judged to the individual categories – Visual Appeal, User Friendliness, Content and Technicality. It will however be mandatory for a participant to design a site using the contents of www2004.zip, which can be downloaded from www.www.com.np. The judging of the Wave Web Winner 2004 category will be based on the site that is created using the text and the images provided in www2004.zip.
